Description
This is an ancient Finnish pendant that represents the forces of nature and harvest. It was believed that when Ukko, the supreme god, became enraged, he would strike the firmament with his axe, causing thunder and lightning. Unlike the Norse god Thor, whose weapon was a hammer, Ukko wielded an axe.
The Ukonkirves is made of structural steel. The pendant has been treated in pine tar, providing excellent rust protection. The cord is domestic elk leather with an adjustable knot.
